"loud pipes save lives," as the Harley guys so adamantly claim, why all motorcycles aren't required to have loud pipes. (Rhetorical question)
I also wonder what the accident, injury and mortality rates are across the different types of bikes. Just glance at how the different ones are ridden tells me the guys on the quieter bikes seem a lot less likely to get crazy or go over the high side. Or be involved in an accident with a car/truck.
OTOH, I've seen Harley guys flip off guys on Japanese or BMWs for no apparent reason. And one with a sign on his pick up truck, right below the giant Harley logo, that said, "Honda. Something an a__hole rides."
Maybe just a little too much testosterone and attitude.
