I was helping my youngest move from Raleigh to Boston and did not like the route developed by Google Maps for this trip. I free-lanced by remembering the roads I have used in the NYC area previously when traveling by car and was surprised when I exited the NJ turnpike onto the northbound Garden State Parkway to see a single small sign saying "No Trucks".
Southbound traffic included motorhomes, dumptrucks, buses, and other larger vehicles so I figured what did I have to lose? Darn, some of those bridges are low! The center lane provided over 18 inches of clearance at all times but I avoided the outer lanes.
After getting bumped onto 17 North, I caught I-87, I-287, I-684, I-84, then finally I-90.
The trip home was much easier. I-90 West until Toledo OH, then US-23 North to within 5 miles of our home.
