This article has some sloppy factual errors. It says Koenigsegg Group was formed in 1994 and is the small company that makes high end sports cars. That is inaccurate. Konenigsegg and Koenigsegg Group are two different entities. Koenigsegg is the specialty sport car company. Koenigsegg Group is a consortium of investors who are buying Saab.

BAIC has signed an MOU to hold a minority stake in Koenigsegg Group, and thus Saab. This seems like a good thing as they provide some of the additional money needed to close the deal and this opens up opportunities for Saab to eventually sell some cars in the Chinese market. Saab needs cash and more markets to increase sales volume. BAIC has similar working relationships with Mercedes Benz and Hyundai.
