Seriously, this upscale cable business is a load of crap. Monster has "oxygen reduced copper" - like the electrons had a problem transversing regular copper. A piece of zip wire (lamp cord) will drive your speakers as well as their super cables. Gold connectors? I've got chrome plated connectors that are decades old and guess what - the electricity still flows just fine.
It's true that a cheaply shielded cable can be an issue, and if you're talking about applications like musical instruments where things are pulled, strained, and repeatedly plugged and unplugged then quality connectors are a feature. But, most of the upscale cable business is total BS, no matter what the application. It's just more proof that if you charge more, people will think it's worth more - and another way to separate fools from their money.
