if you have to charge the battery in transit using an ICE, why not just use the ICE to propel the car? I mean, you can only store theoretically 100% of the output of the ICE into the battery, right? And the reality is that there is power lost during the transfer process through heat, friction, and inefficiency, right? So you have power loss from the ICE to the battery, during storage, then again from the battery to / through the drive train. So why not just take that power from the ICE and put it into the drive train, eliminate the middle man / battery?
You know, like a regular car?
Am I missing something? Seriously, what am I missing?
