Triumph?.... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Mon, 9 Nov 2009 12:46:43 In Reply to: Anyone own a Triumph Sprint ST or daytona 675?, Bill H, Sun, 8 Nov 2009 12:37:21 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
We just had a Sprint ST in trade, for a BMW naturally, and it was really impressive. Heated grips, ABS, and cases keyed to the ignition keys, features you could only get in a BMW for the longest time.
I think sport bikes are highly overrated as sport bikes, that is they are very attractive to the eye and the heart, but too specialized and too uncomfortable for most riding. And a sport touring bike can be just as much fun in sporty mode and a lot more practical everywhere else.
I myself grew our of chain drive bikes and that's what brought me to BMW motorcycles, the patented Paralever system that makes a shaft drive bike practical for sporty (and even off-road) riding.
Have you checked out BMW's lately? Of course everyone has an opinion on motorcycling, but strip away the emotion and BMW has some unique and very important things to offer. I'd be happy to share more opinions and helpful knowledge for fellow Saabers.
