The date I believe is self-imposed by the K-segg Group. Saab is probably bleeding by the day and their view seems to be that the deal becomes less and less viable with each passing day as the asset withers.
While there might be factual truth to this I personally don't really buy it. A couple more weeks or so isn't going to matter. The production lines are being readied for the new models and things are progressing probably as fast as they can even if K-segg closed the deal today. They would have been taking over with a new model nearing ready to start rolling off. An incredible situation to be in. What is a week or a month to close at this point? In what ultimately is a long game I just don't see it.
Wonder what the real story is as this seems more like an excuse than a reason. Personally I think they simply spooked.
