It's funny, our indy is kind of the opposite. Not at all keen on the newer Saabs + works on very few of them... usually has a mix of c900's, 9000's, OG9-3/9-5 out front, some volvos + the odd porsche (and a graveyard of old saabs out back). I have never seen a 2003+ 9-3 there! They are always busy, work hard, + do a good business. They have been fantastic, doing all they can to keep our c900's on the road without breaking the bank + I'd rather pay him than the dealer (our dealer was mostly hopeless and is now gone)...
It may be that the LA clientele is different though + probably the business environment is different too (eg more costly leases etc). Certainly not trying to diss your business, and I agree with your approach (and you're a fantastic resource here on Saabnet)... Possibly with our local shop, the fact that they have a good word of mouth reputation, and that they rarely say up front what it'll cost (they just fix it for a fair price), doesn't give the customer much chance to go somewhere else...
I sure hope SAAB succeeds so we can all keep driving these cars in the future.
James...
