I use top-tier fuels 99% of the time (here in W. Michigan)....particularly SHELL (because there is a large population of stations here)... mid-grade in winter, and sometimes 87 octane in February (historically our coldest month) and premium the rest of the time.
(I try to remember to use a bottle of TECHRON every oil change(5K miles), but more times than not, I forget to install it.)
SHELL claims DOUBLE the normal amount of detergent mixed in the premium 93 octane vs. 89 and 87.
My experience has been a shiny clean throttle body, no injector "issues" in 158,000 miles on my 2001 LPT wagon.
18F (-8C) degrees here today...Car starts right up with little crank-over (midgrade 89)
