Restoration of closed dealers?

While I would like SAAB to continue, the odds are looking very poor right now. My more realistic concern is access to warranty service for the next few years. The closure of 81 dealerships hit me, and many others I should think, hard, since it now puts me hours away from the closet dealer. A more attainable goal may be to get restoration of dealers or GM approved warranty service centers so that newer cars can at least maintain warranty coverage. After warranties run out (8 years for rust, right?), we can be relegated to indies without more concern.
GM closed the 81 dealerships while the Koenigsegg negotiations played themselves out. Since the Koenigsegg negotiations have collapsed, the rationale for closing so many dealerships does not have the same reason to occur, at least as much as that may have been a factor for Mr. Koenigsegg.
If you would like to write to Mr. Whitacre and request that dealerships be restored, at least for warranty, service and parts purposes, his address is:
Mr. Edward E. Whitacre, Jr.
Chairman and
Chief Executive Officer
General Motors Company
300 Renaissance Center
Detroit, MI 48265-3000
