The Dealership says they sold 9 new SAABs yesterday, and it appeared two more sold this morning while my wife's 9-3SC was getting a new drivers side mirror glass. The vehile row in their sales lot which was full of new SAABs less than 2 weeks ago (maybe 24 cars?) contained only 5 cars today, the remaing spots were clear of snow in a pattern indicating they contained cars until very recently.
They had two service vehicles, both 9-3SS 2.0T with the mid level trim package, one Nocturne Blue and the other Red, with identical options and cost. "Out-the-Door" with all taxes, prep fees, and documentation at ~$23,150.
They had a 2007 9-3SS Aero on the used lot with 28,000 miles listed at ~$22,500. Three years and 72,000 miles of warranty remaining, and possibly a $20K transaction price.
My 9-5 runs great and has been trouble free, even with 263,000 miles of use. I figured IF something happened to my car which necessitated an immediate replacement, I could replace it with the used Aero (or equal) for less than the cost of a new 9-3SS. My commuting needs (~26,000 miles/year) would have the remaining factory warranty of the used car expire based on age and miles almost simultaneously.
So I saved my money to be spent on some future day.
