Once upon a time,

I replaced a heater control valve in a C900. It was late on a Friday afternoon. I worked in Richmond, VA and lived in Lake Anna 68 miles away. I just wanted to get home.
The customer whose valve I had replaced requested my presence on the service drive at about 5:15 PM and proceeeded to grill me about the valve replacement procedure.
He asked me if I had had to remove the speaker grille to access the valve.
I said "yes the valve comes out through the left front speaker opening".
He retorted that I had cracked his dashboard when removing the speaker grille. Of course all of YOU PEOPLE know that C900 dashboards developed cracks at the corners of the speaker openings. My customer knew this as well, but he was a law student at one of the many universities in the Richmond area and he wanted a free dashboard even though he was out of warranty. Being a student of evil, he tried to put the blame on me and make me pay for SAAB's material defect. I still remeber the smirk on his face as if to say "I am nearly a lawyer and you are mearly a mechanic". I'm quoting a facial expression so give me some poetic lisence.
Long story long, he accused me of cracking his dashboard. I declined to accept blame. He sued in small claims court. We videotaped several C900's with the same cracks at the speaker openings and videotaped myself removing a speaker grille with a ten torx and my thumb.
When we showed up at the courthouse with the videotape the brilliant and evil law student went home with nothing. He knew he was lying and that I was telling the truth. He did not care about the truth. He did not care that he was blaming me. I have never met someone more selfish and evil, but several have come close. I'll tell you about them later.
