I feel for you my friend, but you are stuck in the limbo that is Saab's corporate status right now. GM does have an obligation, through the Saab dealership, to repair your car under warranty. But, they don't have an obligation to provide "goodwill" type of relief and they certainly are not going to spend money on any Saab claims of that size that they can avoid right now.
Under the Uniform Commercial Code, you could sue for failing to meet the implied warranty of merchantability and fitness for purpose (assuming the UCC applies in territories such as PR). PR might also have it's own implied warranties, most state's do. In general, these laws say that an item that is sold commercially must perform the task for which it is sold. Consult with the state (territorial?) Attorney General.
The trouble with the lawsuit is that you'd need an attorney for a suit of this size. Also, the question of who was responsible (GM, the GM Saab entity, or Saab-Spyker) would definitely come up. Sue the "wrong" one and the Judge might throw the case out and you'd need to start over again and sue another party. Or maybe your attorney sues them all, and sees who is left standing at the end.
If if was me, I'd try to limp through, going back to the dealer as often as possbile to rack up more warranty claims, until the Saab dust settles. THen approach Spyker and see what they will do for you. They might be very forgiving up front to establish goodwill, or have a very specific deal with GM to pay for claims that they enforce (taking GM out of your loop, except to pay Spyker for the work or trade they do).
