Over 3 years is crazy long, IMHO. Every source I have read recommends maximum 1 year, with 6 month replacement interval being optimal.
I use Trico refills. It is hard to find them anymore because people are lazy nowadays and prefer to pay 4 times more to replace the whole wiper. For $6-7 regular price I can get a pair of excellent Trico refills and it takes only a few minutes to replace them.
