I live in an urban area with alleys, and we have scavengers in pickup trucks cruising several times daily for metal parts. This is great for recycling unwanted pieces of metal, such as used exhaust parts, but not so great for security as someone stole my summer Aero alloy wheels (aluminum is worth something like $1/pound, so four 22 lb. wheels ...) and snowblower last winter out of my garage. When our basement fridge needed to be removed, I flagged one of these guys down, told him what I had and he and his son gladly took care of it.
