its state of mind,
everyone is a human and in being human we are flawed with pride. the thing is pride can take over while we are driving and the person doesn't even realise that pride has taken the wheel. when another car cuts you off or speeds past you along with 10 other cars, pride starts to creep in. it may be a hour or so of cars passing this single human, being cut off left and right before the person starts to think...(if i just speed up i can keep with the flow of traffic) so the person dose.
at this point the person has lost control of the situation of driving the car. the loss of control happened when the person started to make up reasons to go faster. even though keeping with the flow of traffic is correct as not to be the biggest road hazard out there in being the only car thats slow, the problem arises when the driver has been at this constant speed over the mph limit for a prolonged amount of time. the driver knowing exactly how much over the speed limit there traveling, as in 10,15 mph over say the driver maintains this speed for an hour or two then find them self approaching slower speeds in the traffic flow.
this driver will fight to maintain 10 15mph over the limit because they lost the battle of self control an hour ago. a big player in pride is the music that's played in the car, even no music. no music leaves the driver to reason with them-self and if the driver is doing 10mph + reasoning has gone right out the window. heavy metal music, or rock n roll will have the driver feeling as they are driving a rocket ship which makes the human stay in the lead of the race (thinking its a nascar race track)
rap, hip hop with have the driver thinking the person is the #1 human on the world and everybody else is breathing their air, and driving on their road, which hate starts to invade causing the driver not only to speed but puts in the factor of road rage. the human driving the car is blinded by their own actions because the person believes they are correct and everyone else is wrong, which in most cases takes a officer to pull them over and correct them. the worst speeders of them all are the ones who have the need for speed, being behind the steering wheel and have the feeling slowly creep through the drivers body for the need of warp speed.
even though this driver may be an excellent driver at high speeds and while speeding the driver may be fully aware they are 50+ over the mph limit, only thing on this drivers mind is speed nothing more, and on top of this the driver may be fully able to slow back down to the speed limit after the need for speed is fulfilled. problem this driver has is when they pass another car. it invokes road rage, pride, and or hate in the car that was passed. depending on the drivers personality will tell if they will retaliate with any of the above. when the need for speed driver returns back to normal speeds everyone he or she may have passed dose not. in the end all it is a person being ignorant of their emotions, reason i use the word ignorant is because of the words meaning. if your self-aware of yourself you will know when you start to reason with yourself and know its not you thats on the other end of the conversation, who you are reasoning with is pride, hate, the king of all road rage and if you dont know this you will loose the reasoning conversation every time, and become the speed demon that everyone loves to be. if you find yourself running 10+ mph pop in a Greggory Issac cd. and play the song night nurse. you will crush any reasoning you did with yourself to get the speed faster
