highly visible people. High profile athletes, politicians, business leaders, etc, do this kind of thing all the time. There's no excuse for it, but it seems hard wired into their personality types. The media vultures love it because it gives them something to talk about that they know their readers and viewers will get excited and keep on watching and reading. Marital infidelity as a spectator sport.
While Woods has proven himself to be a jerk and bonehead, it's really none of anyone's business, outside of his family. His sponsors do have a vested interest, and those are related but separate issues. I don't blame any of them for pulling sponsorship/endorsement deals.
What's really kinda sad is that so many people think any of this is even remotely important.
