Thanks all for the responses.
Yeah, so I'm taking a shower this a.m. and the shower head is leaking from the threads, so clearly the pipe dope stuff isn’t working too well there.
Then I'm downstairs about 10 minutes later and hear dripping on the ceiling, not much, but definitely there.
I undid the shower head and pipe, re-doped it with a TON of goop, managed to get another complete 360 deg. turn more than the last one, so it's tighter. I'm letting it set for 24 hours to see if that helps too.
I'm pretty sure that was the leak, because I ran the tub later and no dripping, so it isn't the faucet, new tub spout, or drain.
Don't like dripping sounds in the walls, don't like that at all. Thought I got rid of that worry when I sold, that'll teach me to be a good brother ...
