I asked about this back in January. A quick refresher... I dripped silicone spray on my dash, it stained like you wouldn't believe, I used a mars plastic eraser to try to get it off, failed, and left a shiny spot on my dash.
I tried the Magic Eraser as suggested but it just further wore down the surface of the dash and made it look worse. This week I have been on "Spring Break" so I cleaned the car and it looked absolutely stunning, other than this spot on the dash pointing and laughing at me.
Today at Walmart I cruised through the shoe section to see what they had for wax/polish whatever. I found a tin of Kiwi Black Shoe Polish and grabbed it. After trying it in an inconspicuous place to make sure it didn't do anything weird, I applied a little to the spot. It didn't really do anything. So I polished the REST of the dash. And it looks GREAT! It's really not that shiny. Nowhere's near as shiny as what that Armor-all garbage does to it. I had to simple-green that stuff off of there, it was blinding me! I only did between the defrost vent and that first accent line that swoops across the passenger side over the airbag. So that area around the grated vent isn't polished. You can barely tell the difference, and the shiny spot from my silicone incident doesn't stick out at all! I am HAPPY.
