Here's an example of a finicky device...
Daughter has a GPS unit with a wall-charger and a USB cord. Either one plugs into the same port on the GPS unit.
If she plugs the wall charger into the USB jack, it charges the battery.
If she uses the USB cord with a power supply (not a computer) then the GPS unit locks up because it's trying to communicate with the computer (which isn't there). So the wall charger LOOKS like it's a USB cable, but something must tell the GPS unit that it's not really a computer.
Anyone understand that behavior?
