Don't forget that as SAAB was "losing money", GM had SAAB engineers work on a new engines for Pontiac and Saturn, do suspension work for Buick and Chevy, and work on engines and platforms for Opel, Buick and Cadillac.
In many ways GM used SAAB engineering talent to enhance it own brands, while neglecting the SAAB brand.
If in fact, Spyker can be profitable running the same SAAB factory, using engines and transmissions sourced from the same GM suppliers, and (initially at least) selling the same SAAB vehicles designed under GM, then it speaks volumes about GM's inefficient and ineffective management.
