I would like some opinions from those who have been there done that. Pending kitchen remodel coming up. I have nothing but painted plywood right now, sad to say, but I was thinking: If I were to put down ceramic tile, with a radiant heat system, I would just put the heating element under the exposed area, correct? Not under the cabinets or other permanent installations. I have forced air heat , so I assume they make electric radiant heat systems? Or perhaps a tankless hot water/fluid heat on demand for just the system itself? Also, since it is a small space, and the permanently installed units will take up most of it, is there any advantage to NOT putting tile under where the cabinetry will be? Yes it may save a few bucks, but will that also help with the ease of installation of the cabinets since there is wood to screw or nail to instead of fragile tile? Probably not, but your ideas and comments are welcome. Thanks!
