The problem I had with "Born From Jets" was that, while it sounded really cool, it wasn't all that true to life. Yes, there were Aircraft engineers who worked on the Saab 92, but in 1947, Saab didn't have their first jet yet! They were still working with piston-engined, propellor-driven aircraft.
And the history of Saab cars has been separated from the aircraft part of the business for so long as to make "Born from Jets" a tenuous connection, at best.
I like "Move your Mind" as a slogan. And I also applaud a consistency of message across markets. Europe has gotten the best Saab ads for years now, since the NG900 ad with the bodybuilders flipping the car and driving off in it. Much of what we got here was pretty lame, except for the early 9-5 ads with the Gripen jet.
My favorite ads were from the 80s, with Mark Lenard (Sarek, aka Spock's father) doing the voice overs, with the tagline "The most intelligent car ever built". One favorite was the C900 approaching a narrow ramp, having the right side wheels go up on the ramp, rolling the car through 360 degrees, coming to rest on its wheels. Then the driver re-starts, and drives away...
Of course, with a slogan like that, one is always open to parody...
Saab vs Snaab...
