Tolls are probably the next fund raiser... I know many areas of the USA already have toll roads. However, look for the number of roadways that charge a toll to increase. Washington State already has one of the highest gasoline taxes in the USA. Nonetheless, it seems that every new project here in Washington State will also have tolls. Many of the projects will not have tool booths to cut cost. Therefore, I suspect that having a transponder will be a necessity in the next couple years as it will be next to impossible to drive anywhere within 100 miles of Seattle without having to pay a toll at some bridge or roadway.
