I was looking for a car to hold 5-6, and do light towing. I wanted leather, seat heaters, sunroof and good audio--GPS not necessary but nice. When we travel w/ a family member who is handicapped I sit in the back seat (I'm 6') so second row seating room was a big deal to me. This would be my wife's car and I have one kid w/ lots of friends.

on your list this is what I found:

Audi Q7: This was my runner up, good towing, great looks, nice interior, v-6--pretty dead, v-8 good power but crappy mileage, I didn't buy because repair history is BAD. I really like this car.

Ford Flex: Couldn't get my wife to look at it. I rented them and like them she hated the looks. TONS of room, nice interior.

VW-- bad reliability and the Touraeg in V6 is slow... routan not on my list.

I looked and drove the Volvo XC-90 liked it. V-8 have good power, V-6 weak, and both not very good gas mileage.

GMC Acadia: Lot's of room! Decent motor, good warranty. Low seat second row height was not so good for me.

Honda Pilot: I was looking at the top line model te EX-L and the amount of plastic in the terior was sad--we called it interior by tupperware. Too bad it had some strengths.

Toyota highlander: (Newer, bigger body style). The top end models are nice. Good room inside. Good motor. Would have been happy w/ one. Missed out on two hybrid certified pre-owned 2008's or I'd have one.

Lexus RX400h: Hybrid--and still can tow! Awesome deals on 2 year old lease trade ins... If it had more room behind he back seat it would have been a no-brainer but cargo room is low. No 3rd row seats. Nice interior.

What I bought: Acura MDX. By far, best handling of everything I looked at. Good power (300 HP), decent mileage, OK towing capacity, lots of options at a decent price. Interior quality is nice--a little to high- tech for my tastes but my wife liked it.

We would have been OK with others from above and I still look at Q7 and think what if...But relibilty questions tipped me into the Acura MDX.
