Should I or not?

My daughter is getting married in a few months. I was thinking about giving my new son-in-law one of my old Saabs. The car has a few issues, but it would be better than walking...which is what he is doing now. OTOH, he would have to pay for gas, registration, insurance etc. and I don't know that he is that mature. He doesn't seem to be as motivated as I was at his age... And, while I like the car a lot, I don't want to see it wrecked a week after I give it to him, even if it is 20 years old. She doesn't think it's a good deal even if it is free.
Maybe my expectations are too high...I was content with a 1961 Corvair, that I got for free when I was a sophomore in High School. I told my dad I had saved $50 to buy a 1961 Simca. He said fugettaboutit, I can get you a better car than that for free... I thought it was better than my Motobecane bicycle... Has the younger generation changed that much???
