and it is working fine, I wouldn't even test it. It's highly unlikely, in a 2006 car, that it means 1999...
They don't fail in any predictable pattern. Basically, the car just won't start at some point. Testing the battery at that point may well be inconclusive, as well. 9-5s need a lot of power to start them, and the voltage can't drop too low, or the computers don't function, and you won't get any ignition, even though it seems to be cranking happily along...
Happend to me a few weeks ago. Just dropped in a new battery (Duralast from Autozone...)
