So this week I learned I still don't like Hondas

Rented an Accord from National in Orlando. Seems nice enough for the short (6 mins) drive to my hotel and then to my client.
But then I drove about 35 minutes each way to have dinner with a colleague and his wife. All freeway, 60-80 mph. The steering feels OK at first, with nice weight but it quickly becomes obvious that it has no feel. Sorta like the Fusion I rented a few weeks back. But no wonder Honda sells a bunch of them--it feels real Domestic.
Then there's the seats. Geez... the seats. Firm, (which is good) but they had minimal lumbar support for my 6'2" 205 pound carcass, and I kept wiggling around after about 15 minutes, trying to find a better position. Not painful, mind you. Just not something I'd want to be in for very long. Certainly not all day!
And the 4 cyl engine leaves a lot to be desired, but then it lacks the crucial ingredient of a turbocharger. Smoothness only goes so far.
So I can safely continue to not like Hondas and don't see why people think they are so great.
