and they will dramatically reduce their break even point as 2011 unfolds. I bought a 2010 9-5 Aero, 8k off sticker and a generous trade. My car is pretty loaded. I have 5500 miles and so far perfect. Believe me my last 9-5 (2004 Aero) was not reliable at all and I am anal about servicing my cars. This car appears to me to have superior fit and finish to my last couple of 9-5s. There is no comparison to the last generation 9-5s, completely different experience driving the XWD. Car drives smaller and stays planted much better.
With the 9-4x and then in 2012 the new 9-3 I think they have better than a puncher's chance to survive. The new management are car guys and I think respect the heritage of the line, but it is 2010 and the landscape has never been so competitive. I think the real key is the 9-3, if that is a wow then their good to go, if not then who knows. I know it will be the first new Saab from this company and will draw a lot of attention.
I live outside of and work in Boston, great Saab area and I have't seen another new 9-5 yet. Get lots of looks and questions. This part of the country is lousy with Audi, BMW, MB and Lexus. It's what originally got me into my 93 9000 and my 94 900 Vert. I have zero regrets with my purchase, I really would like to see the brand survive. Sorry for the random thoughts.
