The big issues, at least in my area, is that no one even knows they still exist. First, GM forced an ownership / location change with dealerships that were married to another. For examply, Sports and Specialists in Princeton NJ got canned, and moved to one of the GM superstores down the road. Whose brght idea was it to move out of Princeton, NJ? And the other Central NJ place, Shrewsbury, also sold VW's. They dumped their franchise when GM told them to build a Saab exclusive facility. To sell maybe 200 cars per year? Now, those Saabs are sold at Gold Coast along with Cadillac (ok, so thats an impressive facility!)
After shuffling around franchises, all of the bad news comes out that GM is closing Saab.. Yet, during the re-emergence of the brand under Spyker, it makes very little news in the US.
Saab needs to get the word out that they are alive, independently owned and operated, by an independently minded CEO, making cars for those who consider themselves independent and not railed into the mainstream. And oh yeah, the cars are pretty good, too.
