Battery Tender Plus, had it for over 10 years now.
No need to disconnect battery from vehicle. They come with wiring harness you bolt to battery terminals, then have a SAE (or other type) plug for the charger. No need to even open hood.
I don't recall ever seeing anything about ambient temperatures. Even though mine is in attached (albeit unheated) garage, I have NO doubt that many of the users commenting over the years on my VFR email list used them in 0F conditions. There is some solid-state electronics, but seems unlikely anybody using components that require above 0F.
Note: for those not familiar, the smart chargers not only automatically reduce amperage as the battery gets charged, they also reduce voltage.
If you want to save a few bucks, and already have a trickle charger, AND can be responsible, just place it on battery once every two weeks overnight.
