The vast majority of what is left of the British auto industry is now owned by large foreign corporations, even Rolls Royce. It's encouraging if Lotus remains independent but that company serves a very small, specialized niche market with a much narrower focus than Saab. Lotus is also an engineering company that is very successful in consulting for other, larger firms. Perhaps this is an area where Saab might also enjoy success, though I don't know if it is part of their business plan.
Any other small independents left? Any selling anything other than specialized sports models?
