Google "magic jack sucks" and read some reviews. You can find thousands of serious complaints about them and only a few people who like the product. There used to be a "magic jack sucks.com" site but it looks like magicjack has purchased it and replaced it with their own site.

They have serious technical issues and no customer service. My favorite problem is when they route calls overseas and back again and people calling you from the next town get hit with international phone charges. Try contacting them by email or chat: they will refuse to give you a US mail address or phone number to contact them. Thier support people are untrained and have no technical or detailed knowledge. Also, they do NOT support phone number portability if you have a number now... they keep promising it but they never seem to deliver. They hardware is known for breaking down (and they don't even back it up when it does).

Try callcentric.com. Same technology, very qualified techs. Send them a few emails with questions and be impressed with the very detailed answers they send. Check the 'net and you will find no complaints. They handle some grimy technical issues. They don't have inbound support but they will call you if you ask them too. Very professional, selection of interface devices, number portability, detailed selection of inbound, outbound, and other services.
