Saab windshields and radar detectors

I owned a 1999 Saab 95 for 12 years. Great car, and I really liked the combination of fuel economy at higher speeds. [Above the speed limit when practical and safe.]
It had a metallic coating on the windshield to keep the heat out which rendered my radar detector useless in the car.
I just got a 2010 95 Aero and it does not appear to have that kind of glass in it. Looking at the spec sheets for the 93, the glass is described as heat absorbent/reflecting glass. No such mention in the 95 specs.
Does anyone know what kind of glass is in the new 95 model? Dealer did not know. This thing gets going fast really easily, and I don't want to not use the detector if it will work ok in the new car. A Valentine radar detector is very good. It won't protect you if you are stupid, but it is a great defense against a Countie Mounty looking to get some money for the local coffers.
Secondary problem is hooking it up. I'll have to rig up a hard wired set up below the mirror, as there is no lighter to plug into. The available power socket is in the console and a long ways away.
Any Saab radar detector users out there?
