Though this won't be popular with many purists on here, the 2.8 V6 seems to be a very good engine. I've got two 06 9-3 Aeros. One auto with 75K and one manual with 130K. I've owned the manual for the last 100K. The engine has been flawless and has nice power, and my local dealer tells me that they had almost zero issues with it. It doesn't seem to pull as hard toward red line as the 2.3 Turbos, but it's definitely no slouch. Not to mention it's easier to get huge hp/tq gains with a simple ECU remap (Stage 0 328hp,405lb/ft from VTuner). I've owned 15 SAABs over the past 22 years, most of them turbo charged, and I really like the 2.8T. Notice I didn't say love. I do love the 2.3Ts. Their power band is more fun. I've read that the ECU remap makes the 2.8 feel more like the 2.3s.
