It's good for peace of mind. The local constabulary has said it will not respond. Even if they did, the typical rsponse time is about 4 minutes minimum, as a previous poster has stated they know that and are in and out by then. I have a self installed system and we got hit with it enabled. The siren is so obnoxious that I'm sure it limited their time in. You can set it up to arm when you're at home with only specific zones monitored. Like I said gives you the feeling that you are protected when in reality it doesn't do much. Wireless definitely the ay to go.
