I'm heartbroken about Saab going by the wayside, but GM has reason to kill the deal. They don't want those Chinese companies gaining access to their chassis and engine technology, and I don't blame them one bit.
I do blame General Motors for not putting the resources into Saab to keep the brand viable during their stewardship of it, but they have been pretty good sports about trying to keep it alive, helping out with 9-4X and the original deal when Spyker bought the company.
As a matter of fact, unless I'm mistaken (and I may be) Saab production halted in Trollhattan in May of this year, and 9-4X Production stopped in August of this year, right? If that's so, and if things stay the same they are looking like right now, does that mean the last Saab ever built was built in Ramos Arzipe, Mexico? The world is crazy.
RIP Saab.
