It's got to be a tough time for dealers. With lack of replacement parts for the 9-3 (I know of several people with stranded cars due to ignition modules) and the risk of not being able to get parts for the newer 9-5's (don't hit anything...not sure you'll even be able to get a bumper, headlight/taillight, etc), it is weighing heavily.
As much as the plan is to pick up a '12 9-5 SC (if it ever makes it out of the starting gate!!), I thought briefly about a Range Rover Evoque (just a GORGEOUS vehicle!) but I've decided to overhaul my '03 9-5 Aero wagon's suspension, where just about any part I need I can get overnight from the Saab Site or Jim Ellis Saab's parts page (which is fantastic, by the way). I would rather do a new Saab wagon more than anything.
However, I spoke to a lady who's father just went back to GM to work, and according to her, her father says there's very little likelihood the wagon will actually be produced due to issues with intellectual property asset ownership with GM and the Chinese. I do hope she was mistaken!!
I've heard of warranty claims not being honored too. Ouch.
Fingers crossed for the best here, coming from a true Saab loyalist.
