While Buick was saved due to it's value of a brand in the Chinese market, lets face it. It is NOT an aspirational brand in North America. It is an old mans car, and always will be. Why not introduce a 3rd purely Euro brand? GM was FORCED to cut down to 2 brands. I can see the need to reduce. But 3 brands as long as they are distinct is doable. Can GM actually keep it's fingers of SAAB enough to make it work? Who knows. GM is not yet succeeding. We won't know if they are profitable until they are through an entire product cycle.....probably at least another 4-5 years.
