All this talk of shady money, etc etc probably got them concerned. So who knows, I suppose it is possible that GM already was engaged in talks with others and wanted to steer the deal in a different direction then SWAN and Youngman. In either case, I hope something comes of it. Perhaps FIAT is now ready to digest another aquistion and is looking for another brand to share platforms with Lancia and Alfa....
