As a technician, I would urge A LOT of caution Posted by Chadwick [Email] (#569) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Chadwick) on Mon, 19 Dec 2011 15:54:12 In Reply to: If I was financially capable, I think now is a good tim, bender [Profile/Gallery] , Mon, 19 Dec 2011 15:38:11 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The majority of issues on modern cars are electrical more so than actual mechanical. Without a Tech 2, CANDI module, TIS, and Security Access, you're fairly limited as to what you can do on the car. That's also assuming that you will even be able to buy a TIS subscription to get security access.
The big question is parts. Saab already let us go months without critical parts such as transponders and ISM's, what's next? They raided the parts shelves to build the last production run, and the majority of the parts that are already backordered will not be produced by parts suppliers unless they are producing them in a production quantity run. Process the repercussions of that if, say, your car needs a module replaced or a new key.
