I say that hopefully...based on the recent GM announcement
Since any Saab built before the acquisition with a warranty is now being supported by GM (2009 and back to some 2007s I assume), the only way to honor the warranties is to back them up with replacement parts.
I'm not sure what it means for the parts warehouse in Allentown, PA, but I would assume that this announcement should get things moving again. Maybe they or some subsidiary will buy the lot at 10 to 25 cents on the dollar, and then resell at full price? Would make for some quick profit!
I say this using logical deduction and from talking to two Saab shops. There are also laws about supporting a parts train for 10 yrs, but I'm not sure how that applies based on Saab's bankruptcy. I hope GM steps up to the plate as they have with these warranties. If they want Saab owners to eventually buy a GM car, it would be a good move.
A lot of 9-5 parts are already made in the aftermarket, so those won't see any interruption.
