For those fretting about your warranty (I include myself in this) - especially for the newest models... I recently bought a 60 mo / 75K mi 0-deductible from Assurant Solutions for $1,243. Factored into the "deal" I got for a 9.5 Turbo6, it's peanuts really. Hell - tax on the sale was 2X+ this and for that I get zippo. At least I get some peace of mind from this, and if the transmission does drop out at 10K miles... relief.

In my electrical and mechanical experience, it either breaks/stops/seizes/fry's "sooner" in life, or generally lasts many, many 10's of 1,000's.

I'm not pushing this company over another - I got it through my car insurance co, and I think it's better than most. Late model, low mile cars will be in $1.5-2.5K range based on coverage etc... I've done a lot reading on these lately, and 0-deductible seems the way to go.

I've also scrubbed back through my maintenance records from several cars - new and old, Saab and not. The "routine" maintenance for all under ~35K miles is just a few hundred dollars... very small stuff and this includes my particular and expensive oil choice (Redline). You need to factor out things like tires - these wear of course, and a good rotation plan (paid up front), will get you the max life (or a bit more, I like to time all to the seasons too - why buy new rubber in the spring when the winter needs the tread - good rain driving is more about smart driving :).

Hope this helps.

Steve
