Yeah, that went over my head. I didn't suspect your understanding of the metric system, I just assumed you didn't know the actual price difference. Canada used (and still uses when car makers advertise fuel economy, I'm sure you can guess why) the imperial gallon because we inherited it from the UK. Canada was still a British colony for a long time after the US gallon was standardized. What is more interesting is why there are so many different gallons in the first place (I think there are three still in use, and at least a dozen historical ones). A gallon of wine was a different quantity than a gallon of Ale, explain that one.
