I'd use it. It's thin but what's gonna happen? It's been working OK for years right? If it was useless than why did they make it in the first place? Just make sure that it's effectively supported and inspect it closely for damage. If you have lengths that are straight and open on both ends you can run a swab or brush down it with a long rod. If you get one of the round steel brushes that's used to scrub female copper fittings prior to soldering and attach it to a long rod you can use that to good effect. Soaking with mild acid will clean the green corrosion from copper, try vinegar.
