many of those points are not carved in stone or don't matter:
> SAAB name/trademark= NOT FOR SALE
but available under license from "the other SAAB" to an approved buyer.
> Current SAAB model lineup which is based on GM IP = NOT FOR SALE
big hurdle, but not for BMW.
> SAAB PARTS = NOT FOR SALE (Owned by Swedish Gov't)
but would likely be bought up + amalgamated back into SAAB if a new stable buyer is found. It is currently profitable as I understand it.
> SAAB Museum = Previously sold
Sold but owned by the city so the collection is still together. The value of this collection is irrelevant to the sale. Purely a sentimental item, and that it is now in safe hands is great! I bet a funding arrangement could be reached if a new owner wanted to maintain the museum...
> SAAB Factory Building (thought it was previously sold by V Muller, but I may be wrong on this)
VM did some kind of leaseback arrangement? I don't know how that works. Lots of businesses lease facilities. Not having this real estate in the deal simply lowers the values of bids required.
> SO what IS for sale??? Lots of manufacturing and testing equipment for sure--what else ?
IP. The phoenix platform would be a great jumpstart for a fledgling automaker... or it would be a handy starting point for BMW, where it already has been designed to accept a BMW engine...
anything is of value for the right price. that said, who knows what will happen. The purchase is almost trivial... it's getting the whole operation back up and running + restoring buyer confidence in the product + brand that is going to be a challenge. Imho, of the rumoured parties, BMW stands the greatest chance of success in those regards. we'll see...
