Actually source does matter, because of the math - 24fps doesn't go into 60hz cleanly and jitter results. This is known as a 3:2 Pulldown.
With a 30fps source - there is zero difference between a 60hz and a 120hz refresh rate as perceived by the viewer. FWIW there are now 240hz screens, which are really to allow for 3D.
