Maybe frames only... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Thu, 14 Jun 2012 16:18:00 In Reply to: Eye glasses, buying online..., Savary [Profile/Gallery] , Thu, 14 Jun 2012 10:19:53 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
But the good optical offices I have visited always mark the plain glass lenses in the test frames to locate the pupil center, in both horizontal and vertical planes, then measure this point to locate the prescription on the lens.
I don't mind paying for the eye exam, the glacucoma test, the lens measurement and grinding, special tints, and the final fitting of the completed eyeware. What galls me is the $300+ cost of two ounces of plastic, emblazoned with someone's else's name (designer), and mass produced by the thousands in the lowest labor cost country du jour.
