I don't know about the other one, but apparently the RESCUE EcoTech has an onboard controller that if the thermostat is set on continuous fan & if no heating or cooling is being called for it runs at a lower speed. It is also constant torque, so as the filter becomes full or vents are blocked (which my young kids are constantly blocking vents, especially in their rooms, with clothes, toys, etc) it will adjust. Plus its suppose to be a more efficient motor design so less energy in heating/cooling mode also.
The MSRP on the Ecotech motor I would need seems to be about $600, but looks like places sell it online for less. Taking to a friend, it seems like this is something I could replace myself.
