My NEC code book is pretty old, a 1996 , but I found it Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 8 Jul 2012 05:43:48 In Reply to: Wiring derating for multiple in common conduit., AeroEd, Sat, 7 Jul 2012 10:58:05 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
For 4 to 6 current carrying conductors (I read your description as having 3 current carrying conductors in one conduit and 4 in the other) in a common race way (i.e. conduit) you must derate the conductor capacity to 80% of the value listed in the tables.
Newer code versions may include the neutrals as current carrying conductors due to the harmonics generated by certain types of loads. My book is at least 12 years out of date. Your local Electrical Inspector/Building Inspector will have a copy of the code version which applies in your locale.
I would also pay particular attention to the voltage drop due to length of runs, particularly the 110 foot long 40 amp circuit. Remember too that the conduit size may need to increase as you increase the gage of the conductors it contains.
